I liked scratch building the deathroller so much that I started another project, made almost exclusively out of random thrash I could find. With this project I incorporated parts of a pen, a juice cap and the remaining part of the kinder egg. Wire and plastic string tube (I have no idea the name of it, got it at a craft store). The top plastic bit ended up falling off after a soft bump.
I painted it using a stippling method showed in this video. It's a great way to mimic texture to an otherwise texturless surface.
